Currently I am a Junior Strategic Communications Major, Business Minor, at Texas Christian University.
Originally, I was born and raised in beautiful San Diego, California. I have been spoiled some might say. Francis W Parker was where I attended school from a little kindergartener to a proud senior. Having been what they consider a “lifer” I knew all the students and staff very well. Playing Varsity Sports all four years, president of a club, honor role, and various other class specific academic awards were all activities and awards that I accomplished during my time there.
During the summers growing up I was required to work or do a school related activity. As a result I choose to work as summer counselor at Mt. Helix Academy and Francis Parker. Working with others, leading, and most importantly my love for kids were all important skills that came from these summers.
However, this last summer I was able to attain my first real internship at Saatchi and Saatchi LA. Having this internship of a lifetime taught me so much about myself and career path. Seeing first hand what it takes to make it in a worldwide agency was both eye opening and rewarding. I spent 9 weeks as the Strategy Intern learning and researching from the best in the business. Along with this, I was able to see the inner workings of all the individual pieces that make up the Agency puzzle. Myself along with the other 9 interns had our own separate intern project that coincided with our work. We were given a budget and a goal to raise money for a charity. As a result, the interns helped raise thousands of dollars for Free Arts for Abused Children. While at Saatchi I learned many valuable skills, however, perhaps the most important bit of information I gained was where my strengths lie in Advertising. The connections and friendships I made during my time at Saatchi are ones I will never forget.
When not in the classroom or working, I enjoy playing sports, being with my friends, and finding new unique restaurants to indulge in. Having grown up in California, accomplishing these hobbies was a breeze. Great weather, fresh food, tons of activities, and fun people all can be found in California. I truly have been shaped by the culture of California and my personality represents the state quite well. Fun and outgoing are what I like to call myself, just like the state I belong to.
